What's New?The library will be closed Friday October 10th & Saturday October 11th for Ham Festival. The LBL Genealogy List Group will meet Friday Night, October 17 and Saturday morning, October 18. Genealogy book sellers will be here that Saturday morning in the basement of the library. We will have a special Storytelling on Thursday, October 30th. Master Story Tellers: Bob Valentine, & Jay Overton will be in the basement of the library at 7:00pm for a special story telling event. Mr. Valentine was born in New York City, New York, in 1946. The first of four sons born to William and Mildred Valentine, he was raised in the Midwest. He graduated from the University of Kentucky with the B.A. in History. After military services, he returned to Kentucky where he was awarded the M.A. in Communications. He has taught, performed professionally on stage, on radio and television, and has written for all three medias. He is Senior Lecturer in Mass Media and Theatre for Murray State University. He was Director of the National Storytelling Project at the National Scouting Museum for 15 years. He continues to perform nearly 100 times a year from California to the Gulf of Mexico. His favorite stories are the tales of Mark Twain, and the traditional stories of his father's native Scotland. Mr. Overton is a native of Illinois, he now lives in Texas "where tales can be extremely tall!: At 6'3", he is a commanding storytelling presence, and his MFA in acting from the University of Wisconsin gives him all the tools he needs to fill a room with excitement and mystery. During his 12 years as Producter fro the National Storytelling Project, he toured an average of 50,000 miles a year and entertained audiences in schools, stages, and on television, including the Nostalgia Channel's Storyteller's Theatre. Fairholme will have the Haunted Carriage House for Halloween Safe Night October 31st.

New Display: We are diving deep this month. The collection this month is by Dave Westerfield of Dive Cerulean. He has a collection of items from 1959-2008, masks, air tank, mouth pieces, and two Navy Seal dolls. This collection is sure to peck you interest in diving.

We also have six PCs for patron use. Our wireless access can also be used with your personal laptop. Ask at the front desk for the password.
